About US

OnLine Pantry is owned and operated by Pencipta, LLC. Pencipta is dedicated to finding innovative uses for web technologies. The inspiration behind OLP is years of watching mom spending her precious time organizing the recipes for upcoming meals and then writing out her grocery list. The genius behind OLP is the simplicity with which it operates. You can select recipes that you intend to cook and add them to your menu. Then ask OLP to create a grocery list for you. Because OLP knows what you already have, it will simply create a grocery list for the items that you still need to buy.
RecipesWhat if you want to use your own recipes to cook from? Not a problem, simple add your recipes in the My Recipe section. When you add a fellow foodie you can indicate whether or not you want to share your recipes with them. Even if you indicate that you are willing to share with a certain foodie your recipes market private will not be shared. (Please remember that OLP is a beta site. We do not recommend saving recipes for which patents, copy writes or competitions are pending)
Building your Pantry The first time you set up your pantry you will need to tell OLP what food items you have. There are thousands of food items to choose from. Simply browse through the grocery section and point and click on the items and amounts that are in your pantry. From here on out it’s easy, every time OLP creates a grocery list for you simply purchase the items on the list. When you return with your groceries click on Update My Pantry at the bottom of the list and OLP will add all those grocery items to your virtual pantry. When you cook a recipe simply click on I Cooked That at the bottom of the recipe and OLP will deduct these items from your pantry.
Menus Browse through all the recipes you have access to. This includes your recipes, recipes that your fellow foodies have shared with you, OLP recipes or recipes that other foodies have submitted via Critic’s Corner. When you find one that you want to use click on Add to Menu and select the date you plan to make it. We suggest planning your meals at least a week in advance. Your menu will save for later use. Once you have selected your recipes simply go to your menu and select the days for which you want to shop. If you need to add additional items like bread or yogurt simply browse through the grocery section and add them to your list. Example: Select recipes for the entire month of December. Then go to your menu. Select the first week of December and create your grocery list. For your next shopping trip you can simply select the second week of December and create your second, weekly shopping list. All the meal planning steps will already be done! Some foodies like to plan a month in advance and some like to shop a month at a time. Whether you are a daily, weekly or monthly shopper OLP is flexible enough for you.
Flip the Script What if you don’t know what to cook? If you have ever looked at a full pantry and said, “I have nothing to cook”. You will love Flip the Script. This takes all the guess work out of what’s for dinner. Simply select the recipe category that you desire and OLP will tell you what you have the ingredients to make. It will make several recipe suggestions so that you have options.
Quick Shop If your pantry is particularly bare then Flip the Script might not be an option for you. Just tell Quick Shop how many items you are willing to go buy and OLP will make recipe suggestions based on your input.
Critic’s Corner If you like creating your own master pieces you can submit a recipe for other foodies to try. This will be available to all foodies on OLP. As you earn votes your status in the Kitchen will increase. Everyone starts as a Kitchen Assistant. Move up through the kitchen ranks from Sous Chef to Chef de Cuisine to ultimately earn your Executive Chef status. Once you achieve Executive Chef your picture and status will be displayed on the log in screen. All recipes submitted via Critic’s Corner become property of OnLine Pantry. The recipes may be published in the future. If your recipe is selected for publication you may not be notified prior to publication.
Blogs If you have specific topics you wish to discuss set up a blog and chat about it.
